Why eat organic chocolate
Certified organic chocolate not only tastes heavenly, but it also has recognized antioxidants such as flavonoids and phenols. These antioxidants protect against heart disease and slow the oxidation of cholesterol, thus preventing a dangerous buildup of artery-blocking plaque.

Mission Statement
Our mission at The Peanut Mill Natural Foods Market is to be Niagara’s trusted source of quality products, prudent knowledge and friendly, personalized service which together may encourage and empower our customers to make positive diet and lifestyle choices.

Values Statement

At The Peanut Mill Natural Foods Market we believe in the fundamental capacity of the human body to restore and maintain good health when given the right nutrients. We observe a narrowing view in Western, drug-based medicine to treat symptoms and not people; we observe a decline in the availability and quality of healthful food and in the health of the environment due to agriculture practices and corporate pressures. We strive through our products and practices to counter these trends by offering health and wellbeing alternatives to our staff and community, with the knowledge and hope that such positive change moves outward in wider circles of influence.

Community Support & Donations
Our success is due to the support and patronage of a local community of customers. As such, we are committed to giving back to our community wherever and whenever possible. Some examples of our recent community support initiatives include:
• Ongoing donation of our fresh-ground peanut butter to Community Care's food bank
• Food donations to Ozanam Centre Soup Kitchen and Food Not Bombs - Niagara
• Team sponorship of Port Weller Soccer League
• Donations to Niagara Children's Centre

Donation Requests
The Peanut Mill receives many requests for donations and community support. We have developed these guidelines to help make our donation
program efficient and to benefit as many local organizations as possible.

When we look at requests for donations, we consider the following:

1. Does the request directly relate to:
    • Health
    • Hunger
    • The environment
    • Our local community of Niagara

2. How many people could our donation benefit?

3. Are you a registered non-profit group?

We require all donation requests to be submitted in writing at least four weeks prior to any related event, stating the following information:

Name of organization making request
  • Contact name including telephone number and email address
  • Details of the event including date, time, place, purpose of the fundraising/event, demographic of who is expected to attend, number of people expected
  • Specifics of what you are requesting, i.e. list of food items, quantity required, gift certificate, gift basket
  • Please direct all requests for sponsorship by fax or e-mail to:
    Fax: 905-685-5053 or email:
    info@thepeanutmill.com

All requests will be reviewed in a timely fashion and will be responded to accordingly. Due to the large volume of requests we receive, it may take time to process. It would be appreciated if applicants do not call to inquire about the status of their request. Thank you!
